Excursions: The Marlin.

An art deco and boutique hotel on Collins Avenue. (Miami, Fl.)

Miami is one of my second homes. It’s a great place to hide out when I want to be solo and focus in peace. Even during the most crowded seasons, there’s a place to sneak off to for some privacy.

On one of my many trips, I was fortunate to come across The Marlin Hotel. This specific trip was for a festival with a large group of friends and I wanted some place to unwind on my own, not in a shared space. As an introvert I value my alone time.

The Marlin Hotel offered that and more. Upon arriving, I was pleased to see the hotel has its own restaurant, Osteria Del Teatro. The restaurant is chic and cozy, featuring natural earth tones in the day and warm vibrant tones at night.

The room was perfect. The winner for me was the flow, and the natural separation of leisure, sleep, and work spaces. This was a plus for keeping my sandy bikini and flip flops away from a clean bed.

Guests are provided an optional beach bag and enough bathrobes to share. The minibar is well-stocked, and the Nespresso machine was the icing on the cake. I was grateful to not miss out on any social outings with friends as I was so close to everything, including the beach, and to run away when needed.
